A grand project is underway in Orirukkai, near Kanchipuram, to raise a Manimantapam in honour of Kanchi MahaSwami, the 68th Sankaracharya of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, Sri Sri Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Swamigal.
Sri V.Venkatarama Iyer is a devotee of Sri Sri Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Swamiji. He is the one who started Manimantapam . It is designed and executed by Sri Ganapathy Stapathi.
It is built
using only granite stone. Cement ,steel, bricks are not used for
construction. It has 100 pillars carved out of granite stone. It is
built on the lines of Thanjavur Brihadeeswarar temple.
